What is List in ServiceNow?

Lists and forms are the most common ways to interact with data. A list displays a set of records from a data table. You can filter and customize lists to display the information you need.

Note: You may encounter two different versions of list functionality referred to as List v2 and List v3. Notable differences are explained.

A. Title bar – Displays the list title and, in some cases, the name of the specific list view.

B. Breadcrumbs – Offer a quick form of filter navigation.

C. Column headings – Display column names and provide some list controls.

D. Column header search – Provides a quick form of search within a column.

E. Fields – Display data. You can right-click a field to access more actions.

Major changes in ServiceNow Certifications

Latest changes in the ServiceNow certification programs

• As of July 1st, 2018, certification exams cannot be purchased directly. Attending training is now
required and the course preceding the exam in the learning path will provide the student with a
free voucher for the exam.

• As of September 5th, 2018, certifications will expire if participants fail to pass the lightweight Delta
exam for each semi-annual release within 90 days.

• The London release in September also added Micro Certifications and Suite Certifications

• With NY release on September 4th, we are excited to launch two new integrated experiences to
give users a way to build and show their ServiceNow expertise.

  1. First, Now Learning is ServiceNow’s new learning and recognition portal that will give
    participants access to the full range of training content, certification and badges, and handson practice we offer.
  2. Second, Now Creators provides guidance on what a person should do to continuously
    upgrade their knowledge and skills, bringing together the types of engagement you see on
    Now Community, Now Learning, and the Customer Success Center. Now Creators enables a
    ServiceNow Profile that lets a person share their unique skill set and ServiceNow Journey with
    others.

• As of January 28, 2020, Mainline exam fees are $300. Attending training is required in order to be
eligible for an exam. Voucher codes issued upon the completion of training will waive the exam
fee for the first attempt.

Forms in ServiceNow

Lists and forms are the most common ways to interact with data. A form displays information from one record in a data table.

A. Form header – Provides navigation tools and actions related to the record.

B. Field – Stores specific data, such as the record name or number.

C. Sections – Group related information on the form. Users can collapse or display sections using tabs.

D. Related links – Perform additional actions related to the record.

E. Related lists – Display records from other tables that have relationships to the current record.

Visual Task Board in ServiceNow

Visual Task Boards (VTB) transform the navigation of lists and forms into an interactive graphical experience. Visual Task Boards allow you to view and update multiple task records, which appear as cards that can be moved between lanes.

A. Lane – Organizes cards on a board into a vertical group. You can reorder lanes by using the left and right arrows at the bottom of each lane.

B. Card – Represents an individual task.

C. Quick panel – Displays labels and users associated with the board. You can use the quick panel to filter cards or to quickly label or assign tasks.

D. VTB flyout – Displays tabs for recent card changes, board member administration, and label administration.
